Extremely winter hardy grass that can be grown on a range of different soil types. This combined with early spring growth and versatility makes it an excellent choice for more marginal ground.

Management

Best used within a mixture of complimentary species. Slower recovery from grazing compared with ryegrass so care should be taken not to overgraze.

Additional Info

Can be slow to establish but it will potentially outyield perennial ryegrass on poorer areas of ground. When combined within a mixture especially with timothy it can contribute to the production of quality hay.
