Tantallon ®

Good quality silage

Tantallon is used as a break crop in our arable rotation. We typically sow it in the autumn, allow sheep to graze it during the winter, then take two large cuts of good quality silage from it, before returning the land to arable cropping. Our finishing cattle perform well on the silage Tantallon produces and, whilst the field is down to grass, we take the opportunity to spread dung on two occasions allowing us to bolster soil fertility. We have used the Tantallon mixture on our rotational land over many years and it has always consistently produced successful crops of grass.
