
A fast-growing forage crop suited to a wide range of soils. It reaches maturity in 12–14 weeks and has a flexible sowing window to match feed requirements. Less winter hardy than kale or swedes, it is best used before Christmas.
Its deep roots make it an excellent pioneer crop, suitable for direct drilling or sowing into a fine, firm seedbed. Apply fertiliser at sowing, with a top dressing of nitrogen if needed. Avoid clubroot by maintaining a five-year break from other brassicas, or choose clubroot-tolerant varieties where risk is higher.
Vigorous growth helps it outcompete pests, but regular monitoring is still advised. A cost-effective option for fattening lambs, flushing ewes, or feeding cattle.
A fast growing forage rape that gives good cover. It is a dark green dwarf variety that has a higher than average DM which leads to high total dry matter yields and good winter hardiness. Its shorter status presents a very palatable crop that is easy to fence for strip grazing . It is clubroot tolerant so a valuable option on brassica sick ground. It has good regrowth ability for crops sown early in the season and well managed.
Hobson is a highly digestible, leafy variety with excellent standing power and strong resistance to mildew. It offers reliable performance under a range of conditions, maintaining feed quality through to grazing. Seed is supplied untreated.

A very aggressive growing variety that provides grazing options from July through to January. It has excellent energy levels and its vigorous growth offers the potential for multiple grazing’s. Consideration must be taken into sowing and utilisation dates as it can become quite fibrous if not grazed on time.

It has the best winter hardiness of all the rapes and hybrids offering reliable grazing until around the end of January dependent on sowing date. Interval produces high yields in a short period, making it an excellent choice when forage or winter grazing is in short supply. With its strong yield potential, disease resistance, and palatability, it’s ideally suited for finishing lambs or outwintering systems. Fast to germinate and establish, crops can often be ready for use within 10–12 weeks of sowing. High in protein, Interval is a valuable option for boosting forage stocks when grass growth declines.
