• The two crops will benefit each other's growth

• Buckwheat will allow more phosphorous to become available to the next crop

• Buckwheat when used as a cover crop is good at suppressing weeds and can attract insects and pollinators when in blossom.

• Fenugreek gives off an odour which deters the flea beetle.
