Extremely vigorous annual grass that will be ready to cut within 12-14 weeks of being sown. It can be included in a spring sown long term mixture to give bonus first year cutting/grazing. Fast growth and N lifting capability makes it a good winter green cover.

Management

It should be cut frequently to maintain optinum quality within the sward. Care should be taken to limit inclusion in mixtures otherwise the Westerwolds can out-compete the long term mixture leaving space after it expires in the first winter.

Additional Info

Fast establishment and vigour make it an ideal component to other grass mixtures. It can act as a nurse crop and boost silage production by adding 2kgs/acre.
